Don't fall away for lack of knowledge

Forgetting God is very dangerous. In Hosea 4:6, the bible warns that
"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children." KJV
Beloved we are indeed living in the last days and as Christians we must stay focused and not loose our guard. In Genesis, we read of how the serpent, in the garden of Eden, cunningly lured Eve to disobey God which eventually led to the fall of man and necessitated our redemption through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
"(Gen 3:1)  Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
(Gen 3:2)  And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
(Gen 3:3)  But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
(Gen 3:4)  And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
(Gen 3:5)  For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
(Gen 3:6)  And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat." KJV
In this present day, the devil is using a similar strategy to lure Christians away from God. First John 2 reiterates Gen 3:6.
1Jn 2:15  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1Jn 2:16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 1Jn 2:17  And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 1Jn 2:18  Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. KJV
Disguising themselves as angels of light, the agents of darkness often present themselves to us as neighbors or friends who may seem to be overly concerned about our welfare often presenting to us enticing "gifts" or bad counsel. By our acceptance and usage of these "gifts" or adoption of their counsel we open the doorway for the enemy to destroy our lives.

Paul warned the early believers in Colossae:
(Col 2:8 KJV)  Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

We need to be alert and be awake to the tactics being used by the enemy working through his agents. Who are you keeping company with lately? Yes, we need to be gentle as doves and win souls for Christ but in this pursuit we must also be as wise as the serpent. As a believer, the devil already knows you are a danger to his kingdom and he will also use every means to draw you away from God but He who has called us is faithful as He says in
"(2Th 3:3)  But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil." KJV
To establish us in Him and to keep us from evil and to perfect us, God has made provision, as we read below:
(Eph 4:11-14)  And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;  (12)  For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:  (13)  Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:  (14)  That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Beloved, stay with God. Seek godly counsel if you are in doubt about counsels received from friends that seem right in the eyes of the world but in contrast with biblical teachings. Read the bible daily and pray always. May God Himself protect and keep us from the evil one and make us faithful servants.

May God bless us all.
